Beethoven's 9th Symphony, Finale
Yes, really. I often wake up to classical pieces in my head because I do listen to a lot of it throughout the day. I would be remiss here to not mention my favorite classical station, WQXR.
I've actually sung this piece, and whenever I hear it on the radio, am compelled to belt it out. Here for you, a little snippet.
Tochter aus Elysium, Wir betreten feuertrunken, Himmlische, dein Heiligtum! Deine Zauber binden wieder Was die Mode streng geteilt; Alle Menschen werden Brüder, Wo dein sanfter Flügel weilt."

I'm A Believer
This is a truly annoying song to wake up to, particularly when one is sick, like I am today. But, here it is....
"Then I saw her face, now I'm a believer
Not a trace of doubt in my mind.
I'm in love, I'm a believer!
I couldn't leave her if I tried."

Brokedown Palace
We saw Joan Osborne over a week ago, the night before we left on vacation, and she sang this Grateful Dead song and it was amazing. Woke up to this in my head this morning. This is such a great song, you need to see all the lyrics. Enjoy.
"Fare you well my honey
Fare you well my only true one
All the birds that were singing
Have flown except you alone
Goin to leave this Broke-down Palace
On my hands and my knees I will roll roll roll
Make myself a bed by the waterside
In my time - in my time - I will roll roll roll
In a bed, in a bed
by the waterside I will lay my head
Listen to the river sing sweet songs
to rock my soul
River gonna take me
Sing me sweet and sleepy
Sing me sweet and sleepy
all the way back back home
It's a far gone lullaby
sung many years ago
Mama, Mama, many worlds I've come
since I first left home
Goin home, goin home
by the waterside I will rest my bones
Listen to the river sing sweet songs
to rock my soul
Goin to plant a weeping willow
On the banks green edge it will grow grow grow
Sing a lullaby beside the water
Lovers come and go - the river roll roll roll
Fare you well, fare you well
I love you more than words can tell
Listen to the river sing sweet songs
to rock my soul"

Set Fire to the Rain
Who doesn't have an Adele song in their head? I could listen to her sing all day long and never tire of her voice.
"But I set fire to the rain
Watched it pour as I touched your face
Let it burn while I cry
"Cause I heard it screaming out your name, your name..."

River of Dreams
There's a lot of interesting imagery in this Billy Joel song, one of my favorites.
"In the middle of the night
I go walking in my sleep
From the mountains of faith
To a river so deep
I must be looking for something
Something sacred I lost
But the river is wide
And it's too hard to cross
And even though I know the river is wide
I walk down every evening and I stand on the shore
And try to cross to the opposite side
So I can finally find out what I've been looking for..."
